Genesis 1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

There is only one alternative to Heaven…. Hell. Hell is a place where the wicked reside. It is a place of complete horror. Think of the absolute worst murder, killing or indecent thing that you know and therein will you find the contents of what Hell will be like unto.
Jesus spoke in the Bible of Hell a great many times. He said that Hell was an actual place which included fire, chains, outer darkness and where the “worm” never dies.
Hell is a place where the wicked will suffer. Those in Hell will know who they are and will know others as well. Those in Hell will desire release but will never be free but instead will experience eternal punishment.
When you think about your own consciousness, you know deep down there is an eternal life. While there may not be full realization of it all…. Inside of man is a deep understanding that there is a God, there is an evil one and one day there will be judgement and/or reward. The Bible says that “even the rocks will cry out” if man does not worship God. So internally, we know there is an eternal God and an after life.
The Bible says that Jesus was taken “up” toward Heaven so we know that the righteous are taken to Heaven. ( Acts 2:25-31). In 2 Corinthians 5:8 Paul says: ”We are confident, I say and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord”. The Bible says that Jesus is at the “right hand of the Father” right now.
There is a “great gulf” between where the righteous are and where the wicked are located. This is clear in Revelation 20:3. The place where the “wicked” are is called the “Place of Torment”. It is a real place and according to the scripture where the rich man was in this place, he could see Abraham and Lazarus but could not go to them. Thus, it is understood that once a person is there, this place is fixed and a person cannot go to heaven after getting there. Too, it appears that a person can look into the pleasures of the righteous and see all of the things he/she missed by not trusting the only one who could get him/her into heaven…Jesus.
So, where are the dead now? The righteous dead are in heaven with God. The unrighteous dead or wicked are in Hell in the “impassable gulf” .(Luke 16:19-31).
There are many truths which we know. We know that if a bird does not flap his wings, he will fall to the ground. We know that heat and cool causes reduction and expansion. We know that the seasons change, the earth revolves and that we will eventually all die.
One truth that man cannot escape is that Jesus Christ will return. It is called the “second coming”. It is mentioned over 320 times in the Bible. The truth we do not know is “when” he will return for the Bible says in Matthew 24:36- ” Of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone”.
Jesus must come again to fulfill his promises. He must return so that our bodies can be resurrected as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15:53. Jesus must come again so that the victory over Satan can be completed as he promised and to confirm what he said in John 14: 2, “I will come again”.
In his book, “Charting End Times”, Tim LaHaye calls the books of the Bible the “World’s Greatest Library”. In this library are the thirty-nine Old Testament Books and Twenty-Seven New Testament Books. These books are the “revelation of God’s plan for man, his history and his future”.
The Bible was written over a time frame of 1500 years and had over 40 authors. According to 2 Peter 1:21, the Bible was not an act of “human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit”.
The incredible thing about the Bible is the accuracy of the historical record in the book. It tells of man’s past, present and future. The Bible was divinely inspired by God and written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible’s words are reliable and can be trusted. The Bible can change a person’s life completely. In this work is the “greatest library in the world”.
NO, you cannot pray someone into heaven or out of hell. No, there is no “middle” place that a person goes after death. When a person dies, there is only “heaven to gain and hell to shun”. Once a person has died, there is no way to do pennance or do anything to get a better reward or more favorable afterlife. This is confirmed in the Holy Bible. No where in scripture is there a place of purgatory or middle place mentioned. In Isaiah 38:18 the Bible says, “For the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee; they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth”.
Eventually, all people whose names are not in the “Book of Life” will be cast into the Lake of Fire. ( Revelation 20:12-15).
Jesus Christ is the Messiah. The Messiah’s description in the Old Testament scriptures, Isaiah 61 describes Him and in Luke 4:16, Jesus confirms His identity. Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.
Jesus is the 2nd part of the Trinity.. The Father, Son(Jesus) and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said, ” I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but through Me”. John 14:6.
Today is the day of salvation . To gain heaven, one must call on the name of Jesus and be saved. Romans 10:13. Quote from Tim LaHaye’s book- “End Times”…”There is no other way– and no second chance.”.
Man is made up of his Body, Spirit and Soul. Man is three in one. Man was made in the image of God who is three in one.
“I pray God your whole Spirit and Soul and Body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thess. 5:23
“The Word of God is quick ( alive), and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of Soul and Spirit and of the joints and marrow(body), and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12.
The body is the physical part of a person. It can touch and be touched. It feels and can feel. It encompasses the senses: Touch, Taste, Feel, Seeing, Hearing.
The Soul is the part of the body that speaks, and can hear, and can think. With the soul, we have our memory, conscience, and imagination.
The Spirit is what allows a person to relate to a world beyond the physical. The Spirit of man is in darkness until he receives the “light of life”, Jesus Christ.
Many times, people get a feeling that being rich will buy them anything. And, on earth, it may be so but yesterday a friend of a friend learned of a teacher who died in her sleep. Just the day before she had gone out with her group of friends and then she went home and went to sleep, never to awake on earth.
She could have had all of the money in the world but as she drew her last breath, that money stayed right where it was in her bank, in her 401K, in her stock market portfolio and in her wallet; all for her family to spend.
Where is she in eternity right now?
Being rich means absolutely nothing in terms of eternal life or it may mean everything… Especially if a person sunk his or her whole life into believing money was more important than spiritual condition! And he dies without God… Or she dies in a “wicked” condition.
You could be the richest man or woman in the world. You may be, but the Bible says that it is God who gives opportunity to make rich, so God was the one who allowed it anyhow, and here a person puts trust in riches, when the true riches of life are the mysteries of God.
The most important thing in our lives is our spiritual condition. Heaven is a real place. Hell is a real place. It is not wise to play a game about where we will spend eternity.
A wicked person is one without God. A person who has not trusted in the only one who overcame death is wicked because he or she is still in sin. The souls of the wicked dead go to a place called Hell.
Hell is a literal place. The Bible indicates that it is “down” so probably Hell is a compartment deep in the earth.
In the book of Luke, the Bible indicates that there is an “impassable Gulf” between Heaven and Hell therefore one cannot get into Heaven once he or she died and goes to Hell.
The Bible says the wicked will go to “everlasting punishment”.
